Summary

The MagShelf app does not collect personal data for us. There are no analytics, tracking or advertising services and no user accounts with us. The app only talks to the Kavita server you enter yourself and to Apple (App Store).

1. Data in the app

Connection to your Kavita server. The server address, user name and a device key are stored on your device (credentials in the iOS Keychain). Reading progress, favorites (“Want to Read”) and downloads are exchanged directly between your device and your server. The operator of that server is responsible for it; we do not receive this data.

Data stored on your device. Catalog, covers, downloaded issues, reading progress and the list of used trial issues are stored locally only. They are deleted when you remove the account or the app (the trial list is kept in the Keychain and survives a reinstall).

Diagnostics export. We only receive it if you create and send it yourself (e.g. by email). It contains technical information (app and iOS version, server address, sync states, error messages) but no passwords or keys. We use it only to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR) and delete it afterwards.

2. Purchases (MagShelf Pro)

Purchases are handled exclusively by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive payment or account data. The app verifies purchases locally using Apple's StoreKit. Apple's Privacy Policy applies.

3. Crash and usage data from Apple

If you agreed in iOS settings to “Share with App Developers”, Apple provides us with anonymized crash reports and metrics. We use them only to fix bugs. You can change this at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

4. This website

5. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR) and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact [email protected].
